Morris Day (born December 13, 1957, in Minneapolis, Minnesota) is a singer and drummer best known as the flamboyant frontman of The Time, the Prince-produced band central to the Minneapolis Sound. He appeared as himself in Purple Rain (1984) and Graffiti Bridge (1990), and his signature "Jungle Love" and "The Bird" remain funk staples.
